Time Management Plan
In order to ensure that our team meets essential deadlines, we used an online resource called Toggl to plan out the project timeline and assign tasks to specific team members. The timeline is now updated with the tasks for the first and second design steps. Our team's time management plan can be viewed by clicking on this link:

Alternative Concepts
In order to fully understand the possible product options, we used our brainstorming Padlet to outline varies different design choices. Each of these alternative designs included a brief sketch, list of components, and main features. After planning out each different design, we were able to evaluate the benefits and harms to find the option we liked best. Classification Scheme
In order to further evaluate our possible design and functional options, we create a classification scheme. We made three different drafts of our classification scheme with each new one adding additional details and information. The first classification scheme on the left was our initial pass and includes the basic details of each design concept and function. For our second pass, shown in the middle, we included more specific details to gain a better understanding of each design possibility. For our final pass, shown on the right, we decided on our final design selection after evaluating the pros and cons of each design. We also included sketches of each possible option to gain a better visual understanding of what each design would be like.

Functional Decomposition
Our functional decomposition diagram explains each of the subfunctions that exist under the main product function. Each branch represents one subfunctional and describes the purpose and details of all necessary functions. Sketching Tutorials
The sketching tutorials were a major component of design step 2. These tutorials were individual assignments to help us learn how to properly sketch design concepts. By completing these tutorials, I was able to learn the techniques that will be needed to make more advanced sketches for the capstone project. To view all of my work on the sketching tutorials, click the button below.
Concept Design Sketches
Using the skills from the drawing tutorials, our group created design sketches for possible product ideas. These sketches can be viewed in the document below.
Final Project Proposal
The final step for the first design stage was to create a project proposal. After this step was completed, we moved into the second design stage were we finalized our initial proposal to create a finalized project proposal. This final proposal incorporated our mentor feedback in order to improve the design of the product and increase the success of the project. Additionally, we developed a proposal presentation to give to our STEM class, teacher, mentors, and STEM Coordinator. These two resources can be viewed below.

Reflection
Our group's ability to work on project assignments has stayed relatively the same since the first design step stage. We have continued to meet the deadlines set and have specified more details on our design choice for our product. We did leave some of the work for the last minute but we were able to finish it all on time. We are still utilizing text messages and other forms of digital communication to work on the project as a team and communicate outside of the zoom calls. Our time management chart is now also up to date. Despite this, we could have improved by updating the chart more regularly instead of updating it in large chunks. I can also improve by planning out my time better on the future 3D modeling tutorials. For the drawing tutorials I did not divide the work in the most ideal way so I ended up not working on an equal amount each day. I am still continuing to learn how to work effectively in a virtual setting and how to utilize mentor feedback when we are not able to meet face to face.
